it's a bit of a rant!
Everybody has a blog nowadays,
so here's mine.

If you agree, disagree, or have any comments...
Pickled cauliflower
Jars of mixed pickles generally contain pickled onions (either standard or silverskin), pickled gherkins and pickled cauliflower. My particular favourite out of the three is pickled cauliflower and I always make the effort to poke a fork right into the jar to get the pieces out. It would seem that cauliflower is very popular and many people would name it as their favourite. Now here's the strange thing: whilst jars of only pickled onions and only pickled gherkins are widely available, I have never seen a jar of only pickled cauliflower. Maybe if it was available, it would sell in preference to onions and gherkins - so perhaps it is purposely only distributed with the other two? However, if anybody has seen jars for sale (preferably in the UK), please let me know!
Superstores
Have you ever discovered a tin of baked beans nestling amongst the toiletries at your local superstore? Or perhaps a packet of bacon poking out from behind the broccoli on the fruit and veg section? Ever wondered why these are so far away from their correct position in the store? This phenomenom is, of course, the result of indecisive shoppers who (1) are not entirely sure whether they wish to purchase the item, and, (2) having decided that they don't, can't be bothered to replace it where it belongs. Experienced culprits sometimes excel themselves by dumping some frozen produce somewhere miles away from the frozen food section, ensuring that it defrosts and can't be sold at all. Is it really necessary to do this? It's not that far to the correct shelf, is it? If you're that pressed for time, perhaps it would be better to do your shopping another day and then you wouldn't have to leave it to the staff to replace your unwanted items... And whilst on the subject, what about those people who are obviously so desperately hungry or thirsty that they can't wait until they've left the store, and whom consume products whilst walking round, paying for the empty wrapper or packaging at the checkout? What happens if one of the indecisive food-dumpers does this, and then decides that they didn't want it after all? Do they leave the empty wrapper amongst the detergents and hope no-one notices?
